Circle Logistics Hires Baraka Nevels for Branch Expansion

FORT WAYNE, Ind., Sept. 08, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Circle Logistics (“Circle”), a third-party logistics (“3PL”) provider and freight brokerage, announces that Baraka Nevels has joined the company as Vice President, Branch Development. Nevels, known to colleagues as “Raki,” will lead growth strategy and operational performance across Circle’s branch network.

Raki’s background in P&L management, strategic planning and customer relationship management will be instrumental in supporting Circle’s branch network. The appointment strengthens Circle Logistics’ branch leadership as the company continues to grow its footprint nationally. Nevels’ record of market share growth and strong contribution margins is expected to improve performance across existing branches, support the opening of new locations, and strengthen relationships with the shippers and carriers Circle serves.

“Our branch network has grown a lot over the past few years, and it needed someone who’s actually managed that kind of growth before, not just talked about it,” said Robert Fortmeyer, Operations Coordinator at Circle Logistics. “With twenty-eight years in this industry, Raki has seen nearly every version of what it takes to get a branch network right.”

Nevels brings nearly three decades of logistics and supply chain leadership experience, with a track record in full P&L management, team leadership and large-scale operational growth. Over his career, Nevel has overseen more than $360 million in annual revenue, driven annual market share growth of more than 20%, and delivered contribution margins above 55%, while maintaining a 98% client retention rate. Nevel’s background includes truckload, less-than-truckload (“LTL”), managed transportation and cross-border logistics.

“I’ve never believed you have to choose between growth and profitability. Twenty-eight years in this business taught me you get both, or you’re not managing it right,” Nevels said. “That’s the standard I’m bringing to every branch in this network.”

As Vice President of Branch Development, Nevels will focus on driving growth, innovation, and efficiency across Circle Logistics’ branch network, drawing on his expertise in P&L management, strategic planning, and customer relationship management. His responsibilities include supporting branch leadership with hiring and coaching, analyzing performance data for margin and volume growth, and managing key shipper and carrier relationships. Nevels aims to empower branch managers to operate like owners, enabling Circle to expand profitably into new markets.
