Packaging Services Industries Reflects on Growth, Innovation, and Community Impact in 2025

As 2025 comes to a close, Packaging Services Industries (PSI) is reflecting on a year defined by growth, innovation, and meaningful community engagement. Throughout the year, PSI strengthened its operations through strategic investments, celebrated team achievements, expanded academic partnerships, and reinforced its commitment to giving back. Together, these milestones marked another successful chapter in the company’s continued evolution.

From operational enhancements to workforce development, PSI’s accomplishments in 2025 underscore its focus on delivering value to customers while fostering a strong, people-centered culture.

Recognizing Team Growth and Talent

PSI welcomed new talent in 2025, including Noah Litzinger, who joined the company as a Production Engineer. With a mechanical engineering background from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Noah has contributed to process improvements, technical problem-solving initiatives, and ongoing efforts to advance PSI’s manufacturing capabilities. His addition reflects the company’s continued investment in skilled professionals who support long-term operational excellence.

Investing in Advanced Manufacturing Equipment

Throughout the year, PSI made significant investments in production equipment to enhance efficiency, quality, and turnaround times for customers. Among these upgrades was the installation of the BGM CL 13/32 flexo folder-gluer, one of four new machines added to the production floor in 2025.

This advanced system features three-color printing, a full die-cutting section, and the ability to produce up to 15,000 boxes per hour. Its three-step folding system ensures consistent, high-quality output even at high speeds. Integrated with an inline bundler and CORRPAL palletizer, the equipment enables automated bundling and palletizing, reducing manual handling and streamlining production workflows.

Together, these equipment upgrades significantly increased PSI’s production capacity while delivering greater consistency and efficiency across operations.

Celebrating Awards and Employee Recognition

PSI also took pride in recognizing outstanding employee achievements during the year. John Fix was named Ryder System, Inc. Driver of the Month, an honor reflecting his exceptional safety record, reliability, and professionalism.

As PSI’s only remote-based driver, John plays a critical role in maintaining efficient logistics operations. His strong communication with leadership, dependable scheduling, and support for fellow drivers and dispatch teams have made him an invaluable asset to the organization.

Supporting the Next Generation of Packaging Professionals

Education and workforce development remained a priority for PSI in 2025 through its ongoing partnership with Virginia Tech’s Packaging Systems and Design program. A team of five senior students collaborated with PSI on a real-world capstone project focused on designing a fully sustainable, e-commerce-ready packaging solution for a premium stainless-steel cookware set.

The resulting design delivered improved sustainability, enhanced pallet efficiency, and a refined unboxing experience while meeting strict structural requirements. PSI recognized the students’ innovation and technical expertise as a valuable contribution to the project.

PSI team members also participated in the Virginia Tech Packaging Career Fair, connecting with students interested in packaging design, sustainability, and engineering. These efforts strengthened PSI’s relationship with the program and supported the company’s commitment to engaging emerging professionals.

Giving Back to Local Communities

Community involvement remained a central focus for PSI throughout the year. During the holiday season, the company hosted coat drives at all three of its facilities, collecting new and gently used coats, hats, and gloves to support families in need.

Through partnerships with Children In Need, Hazleton Helps, and Connellsville Area Community Ministries, PSI teams helped provide warmth and comfort to local communities during the winter months. These initiatives reflect the company’s belief in making a positive impact beyond its operations.

Looking Ahead to 2026 and PSI’s 50th Anniversary

As 2025 concludes, Packaging Services Industries extends its gratitude to employees, partners, and customers for their continued support. The company is looking ahead to 2026 with anticipation, as new projects, expanded capabilities, and the beginning of PSI’s 50th anniversary celebrations are already underway.

The coming year will offer an opportunity to reflect on five decades of innovation, collaboration, and milestones that have shaped PPackaging Services Industries (PSI) into the organization it is today.
