HORROR HAS A NEW HOME: HOUSE OF HORROR HAUNTED CARNIVAL MARKS 25 YEARS AT TROPICAL PARK
PR Newswire
MIAMI, Aug. 28, 2026
Five all-new haunted attractions, expanded scare zones, unlimited carnival rides and the debut of BLIND TERROR, the only haunted dark roller coaster of its kind in the U.S.
MIAMI, Aug. 28, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — For 25 years, House of Horror Haunted Carnival has been the Halloween event every other attraction in South Florida is measured against. This fall it claims a bigger stage. House of Horror opens Thursday, September 24 at Tropical Park with five all-new haunted house attractions, expanded scare zones, unlimited carnival rides included with every ticket and the debut of the only haunted dark roller coaster of its kind in the United States.
The 2026 edition runs through Sunday, Nov. 1. Every haunted house attraction is new, the midway is larger, and for the first time anywhere in the country, guests will ride a roller coaster in complete darkness. One ticket covers all five attractions, unlimited carnival rides, scare zones, the new House of Little Horrors family zone and free parking.
“Celebrating 25 years of House of Horror is an incredible milestone, but this season is really about what comes next,” said Tony Albelo, president of Loud And Live Events. “Moving to Tropical Park lets us take the experience to another level: bigger attractions, new concepts and more ways for guests to experience the event.”
A preview of what awaits:
- Howie’s Blind Terror: The Dark Coaster. Howie has sabotaged the tracks and cut the power. Part haunted house, part high-speed coaster, riders are launched blindly into a pitch-black abyss with live wires overhead and sudden drops underfoot.
- Hide and Seek: The Warden’s Game. Dropped into an abandoned Miami junkyard, guests become unwilling players in the Warden’s deadly game, hunted through fire and wreckage by his Scrap Workers. An interactive, choose-your-own-path haunt where no two runs are the same.
- Camp Dead-End Trails. Escaped inmates take shelter at a snowbound Vermont ski camp, only to discover the smiling campers are the ones doing the killing. No cell service. No backup.
- The Abduction. The event’s first 360-degree haunted experience, staged inside a purpose-built dome. A containment breach at a classified military bunker turns a routine first day on the job into a fight to survive.
- Isla de las Muñecas. Inspired by terrifying true events. Survivors of a civilization-collapsing virus wash ashore on the cursed Island of the Dolls and find something worse than the plague: a cult worshipping twisted, rotting effigies.
New this season, House of Little Horrors offers a family-friendly zone away from the event’s most intense scares, with kid-friendly rides, a low-scare maze, photo opportunities and family-focused vendors.
For a quarter century, House of Horror has built its reputation on original concepts, professional scare actors, practical effects and highly detailed sets, all designed and built in-house.
Beyond the haunts, more than 20 rides light up the expanded midway, all included with admission, alongside midway games, scare zones patrolled by roaming performers and Halloween photo installations. Food trucks, carnival treats and specialty cocktails round out the midway, along with pours from Cervecería La Tropical, returning for its second year as official beer partner.
House of Horror continues to attract leading brands seeking meaningful community engagement that extends well beyond traditional sponsorship. This year, Amanda Demanda returns as the event’s exclusive law firm partner under a new three-year commitment. The partnership includes the House of Horror Ride-Share Drop-Off and Pick-Up Area and an annual initiative hosting more than 500 local Police Explorers and municipal leaders.
Also new is the HOH Bye-Pass, a front-of-line pass for every haunted attraction including Blind Terror, sold in limited quantities online only.
