SAUGUS, MA, UNITED STATES, September 1, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Shine Wellness & Recovery, a new outpatient addiction treatment center, is preparing to open this fall at 605 Broadway in Saugus, Massachusetts. When the doors open, the program will offer Partial Hospitalization (PHP), Intensive Outpatient (IOP), Outpatient, Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), and Family Support services to individuals and families across the North Shore – in English and Spanish.
The founding clinical team brings more than 100 years of combined professional experience and more than 130 years of personal recovery – clinicians who have built careers in addiction treatment and walked the road themselves.

A Founding Team Built on Lived Experience

Rob G. brings more than 30 years of professional experience in behavioral healthcare alongside nearly 35 years of personal recovery. A Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor II and certified Recovery Coach, he has served as a bilingual clinician on the North Shore for more than a decade.
Joe LaChance – Co-Founder and Managing Member
Joe LaChance co-founded Shine with 20 years of lived recovery experience. “My life changed with one conversation,” he said. “Maybe this is yours.”
Joe Papa, MSW, LICSW, CADC-II – Clinical Director and Co-Owner
Joe Papa will bring more than 25 years of clinical experience alongside 30 years of personal recovery. As a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker and Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor, he will anchor Shine’s clinical model. “My job is to make sure every client receives exceptional care that creates real change,” Papa said.

Programs and Clinical Approach
When Shine opens this fall, it will offer PHP at six hours per day five days per week, IOP at three hours per day three to five days per week with morning and evening options, and ongoing Outpatient care. MAT including buprenorphine, Sublocade, Vivitrol, and oral naltrexone will be available as part of a comprehensive program.
All care will be evidence-based and trauma-informed, integrating CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, Relapse Prevention Therapy, group therapy, holistic programming (yoga, meditation, and mindfulness onsite), and case management including FMLA assistance and discharge planning.
Serving the North Shore – In English and Spanish
Shine will be located at 605 Broadway in Saugus, within 15 minutes of Lynn, Revere, Malden, Chelsea, Medford, Everett, Melrose, Wakefield, Peabody, Danvers, and Salem. In 2023, Essex County saw a 21.7% decrease in opioid-related overdose deaths – the largest county-level decline in Massachusetts that year. Shine is preparing to open as part of that continued effort.
