Influential Women Profiles Jennifer Dean: Helping Leaders See Differently to Strengthen Businesses and Communities

KIRKLAND, WA, UNITED STATES, October 14, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — The Mercer Island Chamber CEO and A&E Collective founder helps business, organizational, and civic leaders ask better questions and make stronger decisions.

Kirkland, Washington -Jennifer Dean helps leaders see their work, their decisions, and their own leadership from a different perspective. She asks questions that bring overlooked assumptions, possibilities, and priorities into view, helping people better understand what they are building and what it requires of them as leaders.

As the founder of A&E Collective, Jennifer serves as a leadership advisor and strategic thinking partner to business owners, founders, and organizational and civic leaders. Her work creates space for people to consider who they are as leaders, where they want to go, and how their decisions support that direction. She helps clients examine their thinking, recognize their strengths, and determine where their leadership needs to grow as their responsibilities change.

Through strategy sessions, ongoing advisory and mentorship, and Leadership Labs, Jennifer works with individuals and teams to develop their judgment and put new perspectives into practice. Conversations may focus on a decision, the direction of a business, team relationships, or the demands of a new season of leadership. Identity is a foundation of her work: understanding who you are, what you value, and what responsibilities are yours to carry informs how you lead. Her aim is for clients to leave better equipped to think for themselves and act on what they see.

Jennifer also serves as CEO of the Mercer Island Chamber of Commerce, where she develops partnerships, connects local businesses, and leads programs that strengthen relationships throughout the community. Her role involves bringing people with different interests and perspectives into conversation and identifying opportunities for them to work together. Across both roles, Jennifer helps leaders develop their own judgment and recognize how their decisions shape the businesses, organizations, and communities they serve.

Her career in chamber work began at the Greater Kirkland Chamber of Commerce, where she worked in operations, finance, and events before later becoming CEO of the Mercer Island Chamber of Commerce. She is a graduate of Leadership Eastside, an adaptive leadership program, and continues to contribute through service on Leadership Eastside committees. She also serves on the board of the Kirkland Community Foundation.

Jennifer attributes her success to hard work, her faith, and the support of her husband. His belief in her has given her strength, courage, and stability. Her faith guides the decisions she makes and the opportunities she pursues, while hard work means following through: staying consistent, continuing to learn, and showing up for the people and responsibilities entrusted to her.

Some of her most valuable career lessons have come through experience, trial and error, and observing different leadership styles. She encourages young women to trust their instincts while remaining willing to ask questions, learn, and adjust. She also urges them to practice what they want to teach before teaching it, so their message carries depth, integrity, and the authority of lived experience.

Jennifer sees an opportunity to give greater attention to the person carrying the responsibility of leadership. Strategy and execution matter, but so do a leader’s sense of identity, ability to consider different perspectives, and understanding of how their choices affect others. In her work with individuals, teams, and communities, she encourages leaders to look beyond their immediate responsibilities and consider what the people and places they serve need from them.

Integrity, honor, respect, and trust guide Jennifer in both her personal and professional life. These values shape how she listens, speaks, builds relationships, and follows through on commitments. Through A&E Collective and her civic leadership, she helps people see more possibilities for their work and take greater ownership of how they lead.
